This softshell fabric is waterproof and windproof, yet breathable—in other words, it “breathes.” The inner side of the fabric is soft, similar to fleece, so garments are usually sewn so that this side touches the body. The outer side is smooth. This water-resistant fabric with a fleece lining has a slight stretch, so garments made from it will be comfortable and won’t restrict movement.
